Thanks so much. Picking "Group forum permissions" did it. Somehow that is different than "Forum permissions."

It's the same thing except you are locked into one group if you use "Group forum permissions". For overview of all forum permissions.

Forum permissions >> Check "All forums" and submit

Quick tip when you get to this page, if any users are listed in the Manage users list on left then you have assigned custom permissions to them. If any groups are listed under "Add groups" on right then they have no permissions for any forum.


On the right side under "Manage groups" click the first group to higlight it, scroll to bottom and while holding shift click last group. Click edit permissions button and you'll have list of every forum and the permission for every group.

Someone needs to figure out how to organize permissions for use by mere geeks.

It's a complicated system but it's also also as flexible as you need it to be.
